BBS are carrying out Building Control for a new build three storey residential block along a quiet residential street in Hackney Wick, adjacent to the green open spaces of Victoria Park. The project involves the demolition of the current pub on the premisis to replace with the new building which will be constructed using London Stock Brick to reflect the rich history of the local architecture. Each apartment offers an outside terrace fitted with hardwood decking and glass balustrades. The building will comprise a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments.
We are working with RCT Construction to build the apartments which will be a fusion of style and practicality, the intelligently designed interiors are fitted with engineered oak floors, quartz worktops, BOSH appliances and beautiful Schmidt kitchens.

BBS were working on a change of use building project in Worthing, West Sussex. We carried out the Building Control and CDM services to change an office space into a dental clinic.
The clinic consists of 13 treatment rooms, laboratory, x-ray room, sterilisation room, administration office, waiting room, reception, staff rooms, toilets, stores and other ancillary rooms. Project includes installation of new passenger lift, providing comfortable link between ground floor entrance lobby and the clinic located on the first floor. We worked on this project with Roman Halat Architects who's aim with the project was to provide a modern health facility to avoid the austere hospital look: The entrance and public areas are designed to high specification, minimal and elegant, providing welcoming atmosphere where customers feel relaxed before and after their treatments.

BBS have been working on the Coram Campus school site near Russel Square, London, where we have been carrying out the building control function on the building of a new therapy pavilion. The now completed building has complex roof features along with interesting cladding and brick work to the external features of the building.
Founded in 1739 Coram is a charity committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people in the UK.
The new building is now known as the Pears Pavilion and it is the new home for adoption support and Creative Therapies. Named after its lead donor, the Pears Foundation, the purpose-built centre provides a safe place where vulnerable children can receive adoption support and express difficult emotions and feelings through art and music. It will also allow the charity to train the next generation of music and art therapists and build new partnerships to help more vulnerable children to access the therapy they need. You can read more about the campus redevelopment here.

BBS have recently completed the Building Control on a project near St’ James’ in Central London. The project was for the conversion of an existing office building along with the construction of an additional three stories and a basement. The completed project consists of 22 studio, one two and three bedroom high-end residential flats, a basement car park and a ground floor commercial unit.
Much thought went into the architectural detailing on the building’s façade, one of the external corners of the building has a ball-nose feature with a clock and the flats also look out onto external loggia balconies giving the building a stylish look.

BBS carried out the Building Control and the CDM function for the building of an infill extension to allow the school to enlarge their existing assembly hall and accommodate more space for their growing number of pupils.
We worked alongside Roman Halat Architects who designed the new addition which preserved the character of the original building: "New extension front glazing, with its transparency and reflection, blends with the existing building, emphasizing its features and the original building 'E' shape plan. The glazed front is recessed from the existing left wing face, helping to mark the hierarchy between the new and old".
The new building has been built with playful designs and randomly spaced circular rooflights to allow a large amount of natural light.
