Langley Park Primary School, Maidstone, Kent

Phase 1 was completed in the Spring of 2017, comprising 7 classrooms, dining hall, kitchen, sports hall, staff room and external landscaping. Phase 2 is now underway and once again BBS is providing Building Control services. The 2nd phase includes a new 2 storey expansion to the school with a link to the main building, providing a nursery, 3 new classrooms and a disabled toilet on the ground floor. The 1st floor comprises a Learning Resource Centre and 5 additional classrooms.

Cottage Hospice, Five Ashes, East Sussex

Hospice in the Weald is building the UK’s first Cottage Hospice Five Ashes, East Sussex. The Cottage Hospice is a purpose-built facility with ten bedrooms for patients and their family caregivers to stay. BBS is providing Building Control services and has worked with the Hospice on a number of projects. BBS is also a main sponsor of their Wheels Around the Weald charity cycle ride.

Former IBM Building, Farnborugh, Hampshire

A former Convent built in the 19th Century, extended and converted into offices in the early 1990's and last occupied by IBM. BBS has been appointed Building Control and work is due to commence on site shortly. The building is being converted into 119 residential units with the addition of three floors.

Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex

Herstmonceux CastleWork has commenced at Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex. The partial basement rooms, adjacent to the sunken garden of the west access to the castle, are being converted into offices. BBS has been appointed Building Control on this interesting project and will be working closely with Stuart Page, the architect, and the building contractor, John Farrington & Co. Limited.

Herstmonceux Castle was originally a manor house, dating back to the 12th Century, but in the mid 15th Century the owner partitioned the Crown for the right to fortify his manor and subsequently became a castle. Today the castle is home to the Bader International Study Centre providing education for students from around the world. The castle hosts many conferences throughout the year and also provides B&B accommodation within the estate.

Private Residence, House in the Woods, Hampshire

Nestled amongst mature trees on a 5-acre landscape, the 4 bedroom dwelling has been carefully positioned and sympathetically constructed to harmonise with its surroundings. Constructed from SIPs panel technology the fully-insulated and water tight frame was erected in just 10 days. BBS provided the Building Control on the conversion and extension to the original property. Tristan Wigfall, Director of Alma-nac is the architect and Heyne Tillet Steel the structural engineer.

65-69 Holmes Road, Kentish Town

BBS has been appointed Building Control on a mixed-use development in Kentish Town. Situated on the site of the former Magnet Showroom, the project comprises the construction of a part 7, part 3 storey building with 2 basements. The first site inspection was carried out in mid-April: piling and capping beam work is progressing well. The completed building will provide 273 student accommodation units and a warehouse.
